J, the gate keeper, and a stranger

J: Can I have a swatch?

TGK: What's the name of the artist?

J: Excuse me?

TGK: What's the name of the artist?

J: M...... Chris ...something.... (embarrassing silent moment)

S:(in high spirit) Can I have a swatch?

TGK: What's the name of the artist?

S:Christo and Jeanne-Claude.

TGK: Here you go.

J:(embarrassed but very quickly) Christo and Jeanne-Claude.

TGK: How long?

J: 23 miles (confidently)

TGK: How many?

J: 7500

TGK: (stone faced) 7500 and three! Here you can have a piece.

All I know is if I am lucky I can get a swatch of the gate from the gatekeeper, but didn't know that I have to play jeopardy. Then, they have all the right in the world to ask these questions.

But, people don't have to know the name of the artists to appreciate their artwork.
